Did you know that an on average 22 US service members commit suicide every day? Tragically, that means a service member commits suicide every 65 minutes in the United States. Research indicates this rate is strongest among our female service members.
In order to raise awareness and help in the fight to end suicide among our service members and house our heroes, The Toledo Chapter of the US Veterans Motorcycle Club (USVMC) purchased HERO TABLE “22” at our upcoming 80s/90s Denny Schaffer Winter Dance Party in honor of the 22 active and Veteran service members that take their own life each and every day.
The US Veterans Motorcycle Club was started in 2007. The club is comprised of Veterans from the Army, Navy, Marine Corp, Air Force and Coast Guard. They are like minded individuals that enjoy riding motorcycles, supporting our communities and our Veterans within these communities, and the comradery that they had when they served.
For Torqz, President of the Toledo Chapter of the USVMC, the table purchase at our upcoming event was a no brainer. He says, “This gives us an opportunity to meet new people within the community that support our Veterans, and allows us to give back to a great organization with a great mission.”
The Toledo USVMC purchased HERO TABLE “22” at our upcoming 80s/90s Dance party in honor of the 22 service members that take their own lives every day. Club members explain they look forward to a great night of brotherhood with one another and helping to support our heroes.
Everyone at Veterans Matter is so grateful for all the awesome veterans from the Toledo USVMC. Thank you for supporting our veterans and raising awareness concerning veteran mental health. You are heroes to the heroes.
